The report is devoted to studying current standing of market of sections from aluminium alloys in Russia and forecast of its development.

The first part is devoted to studying available resources for production of aluminium sections (in fact, in case of description of aluminium sections, actually sections of various aluminium alloys are meant, as will be described below). The part includes nomenclature and statistics on primary aluminium, aluminium alloys and round ingots (aluminium columns) produced in Russia. The main suppliers of resources for extrusion productions are described, and data on destinations and volumes of supplies of the main kinds of resources to the producers are given.

In the second part, requirements, imposed on grade of building sections and section for fences of aluminium, being in force in current Russia, are presented.

In the third part, Russian domestic production of the sections is described. From our estimates, in 2005 in Russia, 24 extrusion productions operated. For the latest 6 years, aluminium sections output in the country increased above 3 times up to above 90 kt in 2005. In 2005, around 405 of the production fell to the greatest 3 producers. Regional structure of the production is very irregular: most of the production is located in European part of the country; in 2005, around a half of the production fell to Central Federal district.

Besides, in he part, description in details and analysis of productive activity of 21 companies, producing the sections, including data on productive capacities, volumes of production for the latest 6 years, commodity structure of the products produced; in addition, plans on creation of new extrusion productions in Rusia are given. On the base of the investigation conducted, Infomine experts forecast keeping rates of growth of aluminium sections output in nearest years of at least 20% annually, and 6-8% in medium-term future. Thus, by 2012, aluminium sections production in Russia is expected to reach 240-320 kt per year.

The fourth part is devoted to analysis of foreign trade operations with aluminium sections in 2000-2005. Data on dynamics of export-import operations, regional structure of the supplies, the main exporters and importers of the sections are presented. Besides, in the part, analysis of dynamics of average export and import prices on the sections is given.

The main feature of the foreign trade operaions with aluminium sections is obvious domination of the imports over the exports. In this case, average export prices on the products are much in excess of the average import prices that restricts sale of the Russian sections at world market. Notice also that the part is prepared on the base of analysis of data official statistics of Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS), whereas share of “gray” imports estimates by experts of at least 70% of volume official supplies.

In the fifth part of the report, supply-demand balance of aluminium alloys in Russia is presented, as well as estimation of regional and sectoral structure of consumption of the products (end-uses) and description of large consumers (processors) of architectural system sections is given.

On the base of analysis of data, obtained from interviews with representatives of producers and processors of the sections, as well as with market experts, in the sixth part, the main factors of successful entering the market with new products and possible barriers are considered.

The last, seventh part of the report is devoted to forecast of consumption of aluminium sections in Russia in 2006-2012. For this purpose, analysis of current economic and political situation in the country and forecast of their further development was made. The main stress is made on analysis of standing of building industry, being the main consumer of aluminium sections. From estimate of InfoMine experts, growing demand for aluminium sections at Russian market will be satisfied mainly at the expense of growth of domestic production. Volumes official imports will decrease to a level of 7-10% of total consumption in the country, and will remain at the level further. Besides, we expect decreasing volumes of “gray” imports. Taking into account various scenarios of development of economic situation in Russia, by 2012, InfoMine estimates domestic consumption of the sections in Russia of 270-360,000 tpy.

In the Appendixes, contact information on the main producers and processors of aluminium sections, as well as interviews with markets experts are presented.
